What is interest rate trading?

Interest rate trading is the buying and selling of markets that are priced based on the interest rates set by banks: including Euribor, Eurodollar and Short Sterling. It enables you to find short-term opportunities based on whether you think rates will rise or fall.

You can also use interest rate markets to hedge against risk – if you have another trade that could be negatively affected by a rate rise, you can trade the rate directly to offset that risk.
