What is interest rate trading?
Interest rate trading is the buying and selling of markets that are priced based on the interest rates set by banks: including Euribor, Eurodollar and Short Sterling. It enables you to find short-term opportunities based on whether you think rates will rise or fall.
You can also use interest rate markets to hedge against risk – if you have another trade that could be negatively affected by a rate rise, you can trade the rate directly to offset that risk.

Interest rates FAQ
How does interest rate trading work?
Interest rate trading works using futures, which are priced based on current and expected interest rates. With FOREX.com, you'll be buying or selling CFDs that are based on interest rate futures.
Say, for example, that you buy Euribor CFDs. If Euribor goes up, you can sell your CFDs for a profit. However, if it goes down, you will make a loss.
How can I start trading interest rates?
You can start trading rates by opening a FOREX.com account. You'll get access to our full range of interest rates CFDs, alongside thousands of other markets.
Or if you're not ready for live trading, you can test out interest rates with virtual funds by opening a free FOREX.com demo account.
What interest rate markets can I trade?
With FOREX.com, you can trade three interest rate markets: Euribor, Eurodollar and Short Sterling.
